Isn't it interesting, how at the beginning of the race, all you can think about is how far away the finish is and how long it's going to take to get there? All those nerves start to bubble up and the butterflies start to flutter, and before you know it… you’re smack dab in the middle of the race, hitting your stride and catching your breath. Not even for a second do you ever consider how many seconds have gone by, or how many steps we’ve taken thus far, or the actual measured distance between the starting line and where you currently are. No, no, no. The only thing floating through your mind at this moment is that the finish line is getting closer and closer. With the wind howling past your ears and as your eyes begin to zero in on the first centimeter of the white stripe that signals the finish, your mind opens up and your experiences and preparation begin to waterfall to the forefront of your thoughts. What comes from that rapid immersion, is the out-of-body adrenaline rush, grand emotion, and realization that we have what it takes to finish… and not just finish, but finish strong. So, if we’re the ones that have to do all the running, why would we believe someone who tells us what we can’t do?
